to your story using a prompt? (Once upon a time..., On a cold winter
day...). This is the setting. It sets the mood and introduces
the characters.
2. Does your story have a middle? (This is where you write what happens, the plot, or what the story is about.) 3. Did you indent each paragraph, especially when you began a new scene? (The next day..., Later on that afternoon,....) 4. Does your story have an ending? (In the end...) 5. Did you use vivid verbs? (action words) 6. Did you use many adjectives? (color words, how big, small, what things look like, how they sound, how they feel, smell) DRAW A PICTURE USING WORDS 7. Did you write comparisons? (as tall as a ...etc.) 8. Did your characters talk? use quotation marks: The people yelled, "Hurray!" 9. Did you check your spelling? 10. Did you end your sentences with the correct punctuation marks? (. ? ! ) 11.
