    Welcome to Meadowlane Elementary - a Florida "B" School that is home to the Meadowlane Tigers!  Tiger Territory is located in the "City of Progress", Hialeah.  We are part of the Miami-Dade County Public School system which services over 350,000 students from a multitude of nations.  Meadowlane is home to over 1,200 students in grades pre-k to fifth, as well as over 130 staff members.  The school was originally built in 1957 on close to nine acres of land.  Today, our school has several additional structures that have been added as well as 15 portables.  Our student population is comprised of 97% Hispanic, 2% White, and 1% Asian.

    Meadowlane is an "Honor Roll" and "Showcase" school for Pearson Technologies.  Our students are participating in the SuccessMaker Computer Program in the areas of Reading, Writing, Mathematics, and Science.  The process of infusing technology into the classrooms, media center and the opening of our new Computer Lab has become one of the priority goals of our Administration.  This technology will enable our students to have access to the world right in their very own classrooms.  Technology also becomes a great tool for our teachers who work hard to maximize the academic potential of each of our students at Meadowlane.

    Our 2007 Teacher of the Year is Elizabeth Olayon one of our talented and outstanding third grade teachers.  Meadowlane's faculty & staff are like no other.  Our teachers are committed to ensuring that each student reach their academic potential, whether it be in reading, math, science, art, spanish, music, or physical education.  We are determined to educate the "whole" child and prepare our students for tomorrow.  Our goal is to work together with parents, students, and community members during the 2007 - 2008 school year.  Come visit us and experience the thrill of Tiger Territory!!!
